Ringgit opens lower versus US dollar

Publish date: Thu, 3 Apr 10:27 KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened lower on lack of buying interest, said a dealer. At 9.07pm, the local unit was traded at 3.2780/2800 against the greenback from Wednesday's 3.2690/2710. The dealer said the domestic unit was expected to trade between the 3.2600-3.2800 range against the US dollar throughout the day. The ringgit was also traded lower against other major currencies.  The local unit fell against the Singapore dollar to 2.5973/5990 from 2.5936/5954 on Wednesday and weakened against the euro to 4.5128/5166 from yesterday's 4.5086/5117. It was lower against the British pound at 5.4562/4615 from 5.4439/4479 yesterday and eased against the yen to 3.1553/1578 from 3.1487/1522 on Wednesday
