Ringgit opens lower against US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar in early trading today due to lack of demand for the local note, a dealer said.

At 9.01am, the local unit was traded at 3.2670/2690 against the greenback from Tuesday's close at 3.2605/2625. 

The ringgit is expected to trade between the 3.2550-3.2750 range against the greenback today.

The local note depreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.5916/5951 from 2.5900/5926 yesterday but rose against the yen to 3.1477/1502 from 3.1556/1591
