At 5pm, the local unit was traded at 3.2690/2710 against the greenback from Tuesday's close of 3.2605/2625.
Against other major currencies, the ringgit was traded mostly lower.
The local unit fell against the Singapore dollar to 2.5936/5954 from 2.5900/5926 on Tuesday, weakened against the euro to 4.5086/5117 from yesterday's 4.4979/5009 and lower against the British pound at 5.4439/4479 from 5.4281/4318 on Tuesday.
The local unit, however, rose against the yen to 3.1487/1522 from 3.1556/1591 yesterday.
